From the Bottom
of Our Hearts is a collection of essays of encouragement, songs
of love, poems of peace, enlightening editorials and features related
to mental health issues written by the students of East Literature
Magnet School in East Nashville, and published by Write Together
Publishing. The book begins with a foreword written by Tipper Gore,
founder of Tennessee Voices for Children (TVC), underwriters of the
publication. The book aims to offer words of hope and healing to
the students of New York City in the aftermath
of September 11, 2001.
Plans are currently being made for students from East Literature
Magnet school and representatives from the TVC Youth In Action Council to travel
to New York City (NYC) and present the book to the NYC school system. All 250
high schools in NYC will receive a copy of the book. Copies of the book are available

In conjunction with the book, the students in the 9th Grade
Creative
Writing Class at East Literature Magnet recorded and made a video of their
song, Listen to the Words of Our Song, on July 6. The video is being
produced by
Baquas, ACM nominee for producing Aaron Tippins video for the song, Where
the
Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly. Baquas and other prominent music industry
professionals are volunteering their time to make this project happen. The video
will also
be distributed to each high school in NYC with the book.
