Show Me U Care About Children's Mental Health

For the past six years, TVC and the Children's Mental Health Week (CMHW) Coalitions around the state have sponsored CMHW events during the month of May which is National Mental Health Month. Jackson, Chattanooga, and Gray, TN will hold it's event on Saturday, May1. Nashville and Knoxville's event will be on Saturday, May 8. Coalitions composed of TVC staff and volunteers from mental health and child serving organizations are planning this year's events. In 2003, approximately 10,000 participant attended five celebrations across the state. A large number of volunteers are necessary to the success of each event, which offers fun activities, information booths, and entertainment to increase awareness of children's mental health needs.

TVC has been providing free green awareness ribbons for the month of May to people across Tennessee for the past five years. We encourage you to wear a green ribbon during the month of May to help raise awareness of mental health issues; especially during the week of May 2 - 8 for Children' Mental Health Week. We have both awareness ribbons and stickers for you to wear during May. Show your support for good mental health!
